Of all the hotels we've stayed in, we've never had to leave before 9:00 to get our room cleaned. We went down the the reception area to let them know our room had not been cleaned, and the person told us that because we were in our room until 9:00 AM, it was past the time for our room to be cleaned and they were done for the day. Fifth, and one of my biggest issues, was when we left our room in the morning at 9:05 (removed the "do not disturb" sign so that our room would be cleaned), and returned later that afternoon to find that our room had been untouched. I had to grab the soap from the shower, that was also not replaced. Fourth, when we returned back to our "cleaned" room, the soap had not been replaced at the sink. We had 4 staying with us When my husband went down at night to get more towels, there was NOONE at the reception desk, so he had to grab pool towels for us to use. Third, we had a room with two double beds complete with 2 TOWELS. This was like this for the several mornings we were there, the floor at the breakfast area was sticky, there was trash left all around, I watched the kitchen helper pick up bagels with his hands (not using gloves), and the orange juice was very watered down (undrinkable). All cereals were sugary (not even a Cheerios option) one of the the two wafflemakers had burned crusted previous waffle bits (from who knows how long ago) crusted on it. Despite our "non-smoking room", the rest of the hotel smelled of smoke-and very strongly!! Second, the breakfast had very few protein or healthy options. First, the hallway smelled entirely of SMOKE.
We decided to give it another go this June (2017), since it was affordable. We have stayed at this hotel the past 3 years, and it's always been moderately ok. I apologize if my grammar is subpar as I quickly wrote this while still upset. We found one open room in the best western across the street and it was MUCH nicer. Our group leader approached the desk and I honestly can not tell you the exact conversation but she called back and informed us that the manager accused us of bringing the bugs with us (this was within 15 mins of arriving to these rooms) and ultimately kicked out our Boy Scout group. They inspected their rooms and another room was found to have a bug in it. We had 5 other families with us and alerted them right away. I had a terrible vibe and just wanted out. The area close to air conditioner smelled of feces. There was blood stained bed covering on the first bed. Couldn't cleaning staff accidentally transfer bugs from one room to the next. The manager was alerted and moved us one room down. I know this can happen at any hotel, even clean ones. He pointed it out, and sure enough- BED BUG.
Shortly after arriving on July 14,2017 my nephew noticed a bug crawling on his pillow.
